How to read a tape measure?

Most tape measures divide the inch into sixteen (16) equal parts. Each mark of the inch is a different length. The center mark is the longest and is the half-inch (1/2")mark.

Helpful Hints

1) Give width first x height = 46" x 18"

2) When providing dimensions give all dimension in inches or ft & inches don't mix up.
